The Conscious Behaviour Caresses The Inner Self

Kristina Gorke, Austria 2007

Sometimes we´re so keen on functioning in this brutal system of capital and kafkaesque instituitions that our inner self shuts down and patiently suffers in silence.
There comes a time where the conscious part of a human being, that part that represents a strong surface and even stronger will, a longing for survival, needs to take a break from its surroundings and go to a place forgotten in time of battle against the world.
inside ourselves, that´s where an infinite truth lies.

The Athlete

Kristina Gorke, Panamá 2006/7

Combining the strong lines of the vulptious muscles running through the body of the athlete like the blood in motion with the somehow structured chaos of his thoughts while speeding towards an unknown destination changing direction every so often, yet never changing the determination to arrive and find freedom.
